The Blood
Picture this scene, a typical courtroom with an advocate, a prosecutor, the accused, a Judge and a Witness.
Typically, the prosecutor raises a charge against the accused, declaring with certainty that the accused is Guilty. Then there’s a defence lawyer sometimes known as an advocate, who pleads the case of the accused to the Judge, declaring also with certainty that the accused is innocent. Both sides are to plead their case to the Judge until a Just verdict is declared.
The same is in the Throne Room of God, when the prosecutor raises up charges against the Children of God, we have an advocate who fights our case for us and declares our innocence through the Blood. Think of the Blood as a person in court, standing as a witness for the purpose or reason for which it was sacrificed or killed.
And as a result of His Blood, which cries for mercy, we are justified.
